COVID-19 vaccines will be given to U.S. residents at no cost. However, vaccination providers can charge an administration fee for giving someone the shot.
If you are enrolled in a SERS health care plan, the vaccine and administration fees are covered.
If you are not enrolled in a SERS health care plan, providers can be reimbursed by your insurance company or, for uninsured patients, by the Health Resources and Services Administration’s Provider Relief Fund.
No one can be denied a vaccine if they are unable to pay the vaccine administration fee.
If You Are Enrolled in SERS’ Health Care
When receiving the vaccine:
- Aetna Medicare enrollees need to show their red, white, and blue Medicare ID card. Usually, Aetna Medicare enrollees are told to use their Aetna ID card to pay for medical expenses, but not in this instance.
- SERS’ AultCare PPO plan enrollees should show their AultCare ID card.
- SERS’ Aetna Choice POS II enrollees can show their Aetna Choice or Express Scripts ID card.
